A.01.00 - June 1998

Minimum firmware required: A.01.00

First Release

A.01.06 - February 1999

Minimum firmware required: A.01.00

Feature release

1) Enabled the software to automatically determine if a release character needs to be sent to the switch following certain commands. Origins of this issue came about with a version of Ericsson switch software in Mexico and Brazil where release characters were no longer needed following the BLODE: and BLODI: commands as they were in earlier versions of Ericsson software. The Agilent Test software now automatically detects if the character is needed or not.

2) For co-located 882 and 884 radios, this enabled the software to detect RBS 882 TRXs in the sector and to test only 884 TRXs while skipping all testing on the 882 TRX equipment.

3) Changed the software to block equipment and devices associated with any backup MDCC, and also restore these devices to their initial condition at the end of testing.

4) Allowed the software to recognize "MID" and "HIGH" responses in the channel number capability (CHNOCAP) setting from the switch. These settings would be used by B, C, E, and F band operators in the 1900 MHz band. Before this adjustment, a message printed in the software "The test set is unable to find channel capability equipment data." No test results or measurements were affected by this change.

Defect Fix

Feature release

This release provides significant new features and test modes to the Ericsson RBS884 test software and the E6381A base station test set. The primary new test modes are in-service TRX testing and an RFTL verification test. Additional enhancements have been added to support 1900 MHz microcell equipment, RBS 882/884 adapter cassette configurations, and new Ericsson switch software loads using EMG ID for site identification.

The following list details the software enhancements:

1) Added an in-service test mode to allow TRX testing to be performed without taking a sector out-of-service.

2) Added an RFTL verification test to test the power measurement accuracy and source level accuracy of the built-in RF Test Loop module.

3) Newly supported channel power in the in-service and RFTL verification tests.

4) Added support for testing the RBS884 1900 MHz micro-cell equipment.

5) Added support for testing RBS884 TRXs used in the 882/884 adapter cassettes in an RBS882 frame. Only connection diagrams are affected by this modification.

6) Added detection of all RBS882 analog and digital radios in the sector being tested so these TRXs can be skipped and only RBS884 TRXs are tested in co-located sites.

7) Added support for selection of the EMG ID or site name to identify the cell site being tested.

8) Modified software to detect if the TW port connection has already been made, and only display a prompt to make the connection if is not connected.

9) Added MBCPI and MBSDI commands to the laptop emulator command list.

10) Fixed a switch communications problem that intermittently caused the test software to produce an error after testing 6 or 7 TRXs.
